depends where the leak is comming from.
If its the flex tube about $125,if its not really bad it can be welded.
I am have the same problem with my 06 Monte Carlo LT. Took to the dealer. Its a head gasket leak.
The 1995 Monte Carlo could have a vacuum leak. An engine vacuum leak can make the car idle up and accelerate.
Very likely
I wouldn't even use it once, get the problem fixed.
It's probably a head gasket problem.
Well there several things that can cause this. The first is an exhaust leak. Have your exhaust inspected. The second is engine misfire due to the timing being off. In turn could cause other problems. If you have a exhaust leak at the engine, you could of burnt a valve. You may have a worn out cam shaft or timing chain. It could be a collapsed lifter, bad valve spring. The first 2 things to check are the exhaust and the engine timing. You need a good mechanic that knows these chevys for your best fix.
Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak) It is a very small leak in your EVAP control system. In fact it could be as small as 0.04' in in diameter.
$300.00
Replace o ring between tank and pump clips slide off tank
White smoke usually indicates a water leak into the engine block. Blue or black smoke would indicate an oil leak. possibly pistons!! my 88 Monte Carlo did that
I just had my intake gasket changed on my 99 Monte Carlo for the same thing. My cousin is a mechanic and has changed the same gasket on several cars with the 3.1 engine. The gasket is about $60 - $75 plus labor.
An exhaust leak after the catalytic converter shouldn't effect the performance of the engine. If the "Check Engine" light has illuminated, have the codes diagnosed at your local auto parts store. They will provide this service for free.
