There is no such thing as "an 82 Mercedes". There are (and were) several different models made my Mercedes, so you will have to specify the model you are interested in. And then there are different tanks. The diesels tend to have a smaller tank than the petrol versions (on a C 200 at least), so you need to be quite specific.
The cause of the faulty fuel gauge is probably the fuel gauge sending unit located inside the fuel tank. Replacing the sending unit would require dropping the fuel tank.
I believe it is 1500lbs with a maximum hitch weight of 350lbs.
If the left fuel tank is overflowing while there is pressure in the right tank, it could indicate a malfunctioning fuel tank solenoid or an issue with the fuel transfer system. To test the solenoid, first, check for power at the solenoid connector while the ignition is on; it should receive voltage when activated. You can also manually activate the solenoid to see if it opens and allows fuel to transfer. If it does not operate correctly, it may need to be replaced.

First of all you have to find out how much gasoline can fit in the fuel tank. Then go to your local gas station (e.g Shell, Esso, etc.) and fill up the tank all the way. Then subtract the total amount of fuel that can fit in the tank from how much liters you filled and you get your total amount of fuel that is on the low fuel. For example if 100 liters of fuel can fit in the tank and you filled 82 liters than that is 12 liters of fuel left.
Start by checking the fuel tank vent for a blockage. There will be a line that runs paralell to the fuel tank inlet tube or hose.If it's not golgged or kinked then pull the fuel tank and check for blockage in the tank inlet.you might also try taking the fuel cap off and pushing a small hose down into the inlet all the way in to the tank. try this first...
yes it will, the gas tanks are all the same from '82 - '98, just the fuel pump unit is different.
My 82 Mercedes continues to run after I turn it off with the key. I was told I needed to replace one or both of the shut off valve. What is the procedure to do that?
The 82 had the plug on the bottom of the oil tank. No plug on cases.
A Ferrari F355 has an 82 liter gas tank.
Code 82 on the dashboard of a 2011 Astra Estate 1.7 CDTI typically indicates a low fuel level warning. This alert means that the fuel tank is nearing empty, and it's advisable to refuel soon to avoid running out of fuel. Always consult the owner's manual or a professional mechanic for specific issues related to your vehicle's dashboard codes.
My '82 has a mechanical pump toward the front of the lower part of the engine on the driver's side. If yours isn't there it's an electric pump, probably inside the gas tank.
