On my 79 CJ5 with a 304 V8 there is a adjusting screw on the side of thecarburetor (side that the throttle cable is on) where the throttle shaft goes in. You turn this in to increase engine speed. This should be the same on a CJ7. Of course this is providing the engine is tuned and running properly. Note: This is not the two air mixture screws on the bottom of the carb. Don't move these unless you know what you are doing.
Yes it will fit with just adding door strikers and housings from the 85 body or you can get them on ebay.
I have a '79 304 and the fuel pump (mechanical) is located on the right side of the engine or the left side if your looking from the grill into the block. Follow the fuel line from your carburetor.
front of engine passenger side, has gas line in and out
A CJ7 front floor panel will not directly fit a 1979 CJ5 due to differences in dimensions and design between the two models. While both are part of the Jeep CJ series, the CJ7 is slightly longer and has different body contours. Modifications may be possible, but it would require custom work to ensure a proper fit. For the best results, it's recommended to use parts specifically designed for the CJ5.

I believe that the official towing capacity for the short wheelbase Wrangler is 2,000lbs. The CJ7 should be the same since it has the same wheelbase. Wheelbase is the limiting factor. Vehicles with longer wheelbases are inherently more stable during towing, especially when braking. I personally wouldn't be afraid to tow a little over 2,000lbs though providing that I had some sort of brakes on the trailer.
yes it will most 70 model jeep thru 95 jeep parts interchange.
When I bought an 8-track player for my '79 Jeep CJ7, some of my friends made fun of me because they were all getting cassette players for their cars. Loved that Jeep. Loved that 8-track cranking out Jessi Coulter, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. It was the cassette tape that replaced the 8-track, and cassettes had a good long run until the CD took over.
retard the distributor or replace the idle air control valve and MAF sensor
