It's used to store, and can be removed to change your vehicles programmable features. I'm not sure where the computer that controls, and stores this located. If you have the owners manual you can read about how to change the different features (ex. how your doors lock and unlock, remote activation alert functions, security alarm functions, etc.) the fuse doesn't feed power to anything else, as far as I know. There are different features for different trim models, also indicated in the manual

Do you think this could be the fuse they mean?Try to find the BCM fuse and remove it.Turn the key to acc, back towards you.turn off and back towards you again in 1 sec. open any door. This should put it in program mode.press lock and unlock at the same time for 14-15 secs. you should hear 1 chime at about 7 secs.Let go of the buttons and take the key out. It should work.
