195-220 195-220
should be 195 to 210 normal operating temp
There's no such thing as a factory V6 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ. The 6 cylinder models were all inline 6 (I-6). Owners have reported satisfactory operating temperatures from about 160F to 210F.
The normal operating temperature is always dependent on the thermostat in other words a 195 degree thermostat will give you near 195 degrees temperature anything different will be a problem with either the cooling system or the temperature gauge

what is normal operating temp.
About 200 degrees is normal
On my 1999 Jeep Wrangler the batt. temp sensor is underneath the battery and mounted to the batt. base plate through a hole in the plate.
Around 195 -210 degrees fahrenheit.
I have a 2000 Sahara with ac and automatic trans. I have put 186,000 miles on it. On my 3rd radiator, and it always runs at 210 for normal. I live where the temp in the summer is always 90+ and humidity is also 90+.
Normal around 210
Located directy below the driver's seat! :)
Possible bad sensor, it is on the rear of the head. On the driver side.
