they bolt on but body lines are diffrent 1973-1980 are the same and 1981-1993 are the same
carburetor.
It's underneath the truck on the driver side near the rear wheelwell close to the tank.
I know on a '85 it's right below the alternator, they might be the same?
Follow the fuel line from the carburetor. It should lead over to the fuel filter located on the firewall, or down underneath the driver's door.

Sounds like it needs carburetor work, maybe a carb rebuild.
