Does your compressor clutch engage when the dash-mounted A/C switch is on? It seems unlikely that the gauge would have read zero after adding two cans of refrigerant, unless there is a terrible leak or the Schrader valve (service port) is gummed up. Another possible culprit would be a clogged receiver/dryer, which inhibits the refrigerant from circulating through the system.
I have the same problem. Refrigerant is low due to a small leak in the system. They came out and added refrigerant to my system and it worked fine. Now after a long power outage (hurricane IKE) I am having the same problem. It appears I have a small leak in my system and need more refrigerant installed!
Depends on the problem--If low on refrigerant--buy kit at Wal-Mart or auto parts comes with instructions
The air conditioner has failed in some way. Either the compressor has failed or the pressurized refrigerant has leaked out. DO NOT operate the air conditioning until the problem has been fixed, the refrigerant contains oil to lubricate the compressor, which, if the refrigerant has escaped, will be damaged without lubrication. Don't turn a cheap fix (refrigerant recharge) into a very expensive one (replace compressor).
Check fuse Check to see if any refrigerant in system (pressure test) most likely the problem
No you cannot boost or get more cooling out of an air conditioner in a vehicle. Suggest you take it to a service/repair shop and see if it is low on Refrigerant or have another problem....but you cannot boost an air conditioning compressor's performance.
Your air conditioner may be cycling on and off frequently due to a dirty air filter, low refrigerant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, or an issue with the compressor. It is recommended to have a professional HVAC technician inspect and diagnose the problem to ensure proper functioning of your air conditioner.
Your air conditioner may not be cooling properly due to issues such as a dirty air filter, low refrigerant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a problem with the condenser unit. It is recommended to check these components and consult a professional if needed for proper diagnosis and repair.
This could be due to a dirty air filter, low refrigerant levels, or a malfunctioning compressor. It's best to have a professional HVAC technician inspect and service your air conditioner to diagnose and fix the issue.
There are three main possible causes to explain why a car air conditioner is blowing hot air. These causes are a worn out compressor, refrigerant leak, and an electrical problem.
If you are talking about the larger of the 2 copper lines, the problem could be that the unit is low on refrigerant. Check to ensure that the large line is insulated and not exposed.
The most common cause would be low refrigerant.
This was my original search question..."Why did my air conditioner stop blowing on my 2000 VW Passat." But wiki changed the whole thing and then posted it! Don't bother anwering.
