What is the procedure for replacing a fuel pump for a 86 Lincoln town car?

First you un hook the negative battery terminal and then open up the fuel door take off cap and remove the screws that hold the filler hose to the quarter panel then jack up the car or put it on ramps and take loose the 2 straps that hold the gas tank up or some of them have about 6 bolts that hold it up put a jack under the tank slowly let it down about half way reach up over the tank and remove the electrical connection and the 2 gas lines drop the tank the rest of the way down and pull out from under the car take a punch and hammer and tap the ring counter clockwise until the ring pops off pull the sending unit out of the tank and remove the pump and replace it then reinstall.
