Good luck.

There are a few things that can cause this problem. The spark plugs could be bad, the distributor cap could be off, the spark plug cables or boots could be damaged.Ê

A 1965 Chevy didn't come with a 350 and HEI. Best guess would be to use a spark plug for a vehicle that came with that engine and ignition. If the engine has iron heads, it probably needs a tapered seat plug. A good starting point would be R44TS or R44T(with washer) if not a tapered seat plug. For plug gap, try about .045".
I am trying to re install my radio in my 65' corvette with air cond. What a pain. Still can't get it in. Any tips out there?

For a 1965 Chevy Nova with a 230 cubic inch 6-cylinder engine, the recommended ignition timing is typically set at around 6-8 degrees before top dead center (BTDC). The spark plug gap for this engine should be set to approximately 0.035 inches.
