serpentine belt routing vibe 2007
This is a link to the serpentine belt routing diagram that worked for my '04 Pontiac Vibe. As far as I know, this is the routing for all Pontiac vibe base and GT models. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerofile/1436belt.jpg
To replace the serpentine belt on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, first, locate the serpentine belt routing diagram, usually found on a sticker in the engine compartment. Use a ratchet or a wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt, allowing you to slip it off. Remove the old belt and install the new one, following the routing diagram. Finally, release the tensioner to secure the new belt in place.
To change the serpentine belt tensioner on a 2004 Pontiac Vibe, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Use a socket wrench to relieve tension on the tensioner pulley, then remove the serpentine belt from the tensioner. Unbolt the old tensioner from its mount, replace it with the new tensioner, and reattach the serpentine belt following the correct routing. Finally, check the tensioner’s operation before starting the engine.
To replace the serpentine belt on a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, first, locate the belt routing diagram typically found on a sticker near the engine or in the owner's manual. Use a wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt. Remove the old belt and carefully follow the routing diagram to install the new belt, ensuring it sits properly on all pulleys. Finally, reset the tensioner and double-check the belt alignment before starting the engine.
It is located on the engine block where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. To get at it you need to remove the serpentine belt and alternator.
Assuming you're asking about the serpentine belt, you cannot adjust the tension. If the belt is too loose it's either because it needs to be replaced or the belt tensioner needs to be replaced.
60,000 miles or x-amount of months which I don't remember how many months.

To change the alternator on a 2003 Pontiac Vibe, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner, then unbolt the alternator from its mount. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the alternator, install the new alternator by reversing the process, and finally, reattach the serpentine belt and reconnect the battery. Always consult the vehicle’s service manual for specific instructions and torque specifications.
The belt tensioner on a Pontiac Vibe is located near the front of the engine, typically on the passenger side. It is a spring-loaded pulley that maintains tension on the serpentine belt, allowing it to drive various accessories like the alternator and power steering pump. To access it, you may need to remove any obstructions, and it can usually be adjusted or replaced using a wrench or socket to relieve tension.

Use a long open or box end wrench on the tensioner pulley, can't remember exact size, 11mm or 14mm I think. Pull on the wrench to release the tension on the belt and pull the belt off. Route your new belt around the pulleys and you're done. Getting under the car to get the new belt around the lower pulleys is usually required. An easy job.
