There is no vehicle speed sensor wire. The transmission computer calculates vehicle speed from its output speed sensor and sends that information on the communication wires to the cluster.
Goes from the VSS to the ECM. Find the VSS, and you can trace it from there.
It attaches to VSS on tranny by where it meets driveshaft.
the vss wire is located as the purple/white wire above the radio, the harness plugging into the clock. tap into the purple/white wire for your aftermarket headunit vss wire.
normally its the yellow/red wire. you can find it underthe hood in the wire harness right above your fan.
The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire on the radio wire harness of a Ford Five Hundred is typically a light green wire with a black stripe. However, it's always best to consult the specific wiring diagram for your vehicle model and year to confirm, as wire colors can vary.
To find the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) wire on a 2007 Honda Element, locate the VSS on the transmission; it's typically mounted on the side of the transmission case. Trace the wiring harness from the sensor to identify the wire color associated with the VSS, which is usually yellow with a green stripe. You can also refer to a wiring diagram for the specific pinout and color codes. Always ensure the vehicle is off and disconnected from the battery before working on electrical components.
