all vehicles use R-134 type refrigerant since the mid-1990's. the government banned r-12 freon. if the car had r-12 you can get a kit to change it over at any parts store.
follow the top radiator hose where it goes back to the egine
low pressure side is the line which runs from the condensor to the compressor.low pressure goes in , high comes out.high side is line going to the cooler mounted on the front of the radiator
Low freon, bad compressor, bad clutch, bad pressure switch (could be multiple of these), bad switch...the list goes on. Best bet is to take it to a mechanic for a diagnosis.
try checking ur high-bea fuses and relays
I would say a good thing to buy is a Haynes book from a parts store for your car.
R12 unless it has been retrofitted. I would suggest have it changed, as the cost of R12 is prohibitive.
It requires removing the exhaust manifold in the front, and draining the A/C system. The starter is between the engine and the radiator. The line from the A/C compressor goes right by the starter. Really bad, the starter on an 82 Delta 88 came off with 3 bolts.
the map sensor is on a bracket between the firewall & the inside valve cover. it has a 3 wire plug on it & a vacuum hose that goes to it.
follow the fule line out of the gas tank and you will see a lil can looking devise that it goes in to along the bottom of the car....it may be on the rocker paned or some where else
if your standing in front of the car with hood open you will see a t-handle marked transmission that is were you add fluid you will need a funnel to pore it in
