It depends on the setup of your particular vehicle. Some have the AOD that came in the 1991 town car to determine if this is the case with your car all you have to do is see if you have two cables at the throttle linkage on the throttle body located on the top of the engine. if you have two you have the AOD. If there is only 1 cable at this location you have the AODE which is the electronically controlled transmission as opposed to having the "kick down" cable. Hope this helps.
