The 1968 Camaro Z28 was equipped with a 302 cubic inch (4.9L) V8 engine, specifically designed for Trans-Am racing. This engine produced 290 horsepower and was paired with a high-revving, solid-lifter camshaft, making it a performance-oriented option for the Camaro. The 302 was notable for its lightweight design and was part of a package that included a unique suspension and other performance enhancements.
