I had this exact problem with a Wrangler I used to own for a short time. It needs a bracket & the idler & maybe a different belt (don't remember if the belt was different). The cost at that time was over $200 so I just left the compressor in place to drive the belt. Those I think had a York compressor that can fairly easily be turned into an on-board air compressor so might want to look into it!
