The optimal engine temperature for a Chevy 1500 while running typically falls between 195 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit (90 to 104 degrees Celsius). This range ensures that the engine is operating efficiently and that the coolant system is effectively managing heat. If the temperature consistently exceeds this range, it may indicate potential overheating issues that need to be addressed. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidelines related to your model year.
220 is not excessive
The fan connects to a temperature sensor, unless it's been bypassed. This sensor should be checked first.
13.9 to 14.3 volts with engine running.
If I remember correctly it should be 190-205 degrees.
Key on Engine not running 55 - 61 psi. Engine running pressure should decrease 3-10 psi.
A faulty sensor in the engine block.

key on engine not running 58-64 psi engine running at idle pressure should drop by 3-10 psi
After the engine has cooled to a certain temp, it should shut off. If it is running constantly, this is an indication the engine is overheating.
No less then 13.8 and no more then 14.2 Volts with engine running.
Mine is running at 198 to 210.
If you are sure the engine is not running hot then it could be a bad coolant temp sender.
