it should be by your thermostat housing

I need a picture diagram for a 1997 Ford Ranger engine so I can locate where the thermostat is? Please help!!!
follow the top radiator hose to the motor the hose is clamped to the thermostat housing remove the housing and you will find your thermostat
My 97 4.0 Ranger's thermostat is in the front of the engine. I has two bolts you have to take off. I had to replace the gasket. Leaked when I got on it hard. It's called the "thermostat housing. Thermostat is easy to replace. Great engine.
Which engine do you have?
if you take the thermostat out of houseing and the opening temp should be on it , around 88 degrees opening
The thermostat is located underneath the radiator hose where it connects to the engine. The thermostat regulates the engine's temperature.
In the thermostat housing
Yes a bad thermostat would cause overheating in any car. A thermostat regulates the temperature.
Should be a 195 degree.
