How do you mark tdc on flywheel?

You don't and you can't. Just use the timing mark on the balancer and timing tab/ pointer. Line those 2 up with the # 1 pistion all the way up at the top of the cylinder on the compression stroke. If you are installing a timing chain and gears, just line up the dots on the crank gear and timing gear stright over top of each other. Crank gear will be at 12 Oclock and the cam gear dot will be at 6Oclock. You can't use the fly-wheel because it does not have any marks on it.

Camshaft timing mark 96 Camry 2.2l?

The only marks you need to be concerned with are on the rear of the cam gears, there are two large dimples, these are the assembly marks, not the timing marks, line them up and then rotate the camshafts to the top dead center position, there should be two small dots that line up with the single dot inbetween. The reason for the assembly marks is that the one of the cams has a spring loaded gear, you can identify it because it has a two piece gear, before you remove the cam you have to install a short bolt into one of the holes in the gear so that it won't unwind, the reason you need to use the assembly marks is that the service bolt is not accessible with the cams at top dead center so you assemble it with the marks so that you can then remove the bolt and then rotate the cams to the #1 firing position.

What are the timing marks for a 1997 Cadillac Catera?

The rear metal timing belt cover has a notch behind each of the camshafts. Use these notches to put the mark on the camshaft gear starting from passenger side with the #1 on the camshaft gear, then 2,3, & 4 in order. On the crankshaft you must remove the 6 bolt holding the pulley and remove pulley so that you may access the mark on the bottom gear. One you locate that mark that one should be aligned at 6 o'clock position with a recess on the front right underneath that gear. At this point cylinder #1 is at top dead center. If you had removed the timing Gears, Install the gear so the alignment pin on the cam is in the correct, numbered alignment slot on the cam gear, to prevent a 180 degree out cam timing.

How do you align the timing marks on a 1.8 Mitsubishi Eclipse engine?

on the cam there is a little dot that is machined in the cam gear. make sure that it is at top dead center( remember that the motor sits at a slight angle so it wont look like the very top by looking strait at it. you will have to take the crank pully off to see the mark on the crank gear. the mark is an indentation on the back of the pully. line that up with the little arrow next to the gear. after that is set put the belt on making sure that you don't move the gears. put your pully back on and use a timing light to set the timing at two degrees top side by looking at the marks on the timing belt cover next to the crank pully.

Timing marks for Ford Laser twin cam?

Ah, the timing marks on a Ford Laser twin cam are like little guides to help you align everything just right. Take your time, use a light touch, and follow the marks closely as you adjust the timing. Remember, there are no mistakes, just happy little adjustments along the way.

SETTING TIMING ON FIAT PALIO 16V TWIN CAM?

To set the timing on a Fiat Palio 16V Twin Cam, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the first cylinder. Use the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover to align the marks accurately. Next, check the position of the camshaft to ensure it is aligned with its timing marks. Finally, tighten the timing belt tensioner and reassemble any components removed during the process. Always refer to the vehicle’s service manual for specific torque specifications and procedures.

How do you line up your timing marks on the camshafts For a 1990 dodge dynasty?

The cam sprockets have marks, triangles on them near one of the teeth. These are lined up with notches in the rear cover for the timing belt. Some crank sprockets have two marks, one to align with the mark on the block, the other to use to match to marks on an OEM timing belt. After market belts don't usually have this mark.
