It came with R12. Due to the high cost of R12, I suggest you convert it to R134a.
R-134A
Freon is the brand of a type of refrigerant. A 1994 Toyota 4Runner uses R-134a type refrigerant which is the modern fluid used in air-condition systems.
The 1994 Ford Escort LX uses R-134a Freon. This type of refrigerant was used in all Ford Escorts from 1994 through 2002.
The 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme holds 32 ounces of refrigerant. These models require R-134a Freon. This was used for all Cutlasses from 1994 to 1996.
Most 1994 vehicles used Freon 12 in the AC system, but they can be easily converted to the more affordable (and much more available) 134A refrigerant.
REGULAR GM ATF FLUID
The type of freon typically used in refrigerators is R-134a.
Anything produced since 1994 or maybe 1995 will use R-134.
