Same problem in my 93. I disassembled the blinker switch and cleaned all the contacts. The fun part was the bright switch which has the spring loaded ball bearing in a rocker assembly trick going on. I ended up replacing the ball with a small nail head and about 1/4 inch of the shank; of course I found the ball bearing after I put it all back in, but it works great! The slider for the blinker switch must be put back in the way it was oriented ( like north south not turned about), if not you will figure it out pretty quick. This is for the more advanced tinkers amongst us. No way I'm putting out $300 or so for a new switch!
On the Signal Assembly there is only ONE screw which is right on top, near the headlight. It looks like a little arm sticking out, unscrew it.Now, on the passenger's side signal assembly, pull from
Right by the shift module on the transmission. Right behind where the Exhaust pipes join up when the come out of the engine.
1996 Isuzu Trooper turn signal light bulb replacement: Purchase the correct replacement turn signal light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the turn signal light bulb replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).
I found that the easiest way to get to the starter of an 1987 Trooper II is to take the front right wheel off. You should see it right there, and with relatively easy access.
just behind the wheel well of the right front tire its a silver color looking thing
The fuel filter is located near the right rear wheel bolted to the chasis.
above right rear tire, no tools required 2 minute replacement
use ratchets, sockets, wrenchs and it should come right off
A person should be able to trouble shoot problems in a car. A vehicle would stall out after starting because of a failure in the fuel system, or it could be a bad O2 sensor.
You push the winter drive button on the center console....right behind shifter.
I believe that it's just above the Front Right spark plug coil. It has a vacuum hose attached to it.
The tranny uses a preset program to shift that is computer based. You use your right foot on the gas pedal to get the trooper up to speed for the shift to happen in the normal driving scenario.
