Three things to check for if water is collecting on the drivers side. There are supposed to be rubber closures on the holes underneath the floor carpet, and one may be damaged or not properly in place. The second most likely is the weather stripping along the door, as it may be pinched and not preventing rain entering. The least likely, but third thing to check is at the firewall where the wiring harness enters the passenger compartment.

The passenger side floorboard of a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville could get wet due to several reasons, including a clogged or damaged windshield drain, which allows rainwater to seep into the cabin. Another common cause is a leak in the heater core, which can release coolant inside the vehicle. Additionally, worn weather stripping around the doors or windows could let water in during rain. Lastly, a faulty door seal or a cracked windshield may also contribute to moisture accumulation in that area.
