He adapted the process of assembly line manufacture for automobiles, which allowed him to market a product at a price that could be afforded by the working man. Prior to that, automobiles were for the rich, only. Before he developed his automobile assembly line, Ford test drove his first vehicle, the Ford Quadricycle, on June 4 1896.
