How much will it cost to put a V8 301 engine with a turbo into your 1987 Pontiac fire bird?

too much, that engine was a POS from the factory, I know I own one. get a nice 350, 400, or 455 Pontiac if you want to go retro. Turbos work just fine on them and there a whole lot cheaper and more reliable than that 301

How much does a 1976 Pontiac firebird 350 formula v8 have?

Does any body make a high performance intake manifold for 1980 Pontiac 4.9 liter v8?

I believe edelbrock makes a selection of intake manifolds for the 4.9. I have a carb 4.9 in an 81, I'm thinking of getting one.The 301 (4.9) Pontiac was pretty much a one off engine. To date, I know of no one that makes any type of performance intakes for it. Most people rip out the 301 and drop in a 350, 400...whatever.....since it will bolt right in. The only options you have is the factory 301 4bbl intake......or going to the T/A turbo unit.

Can you swap a Pontiac 301 for a 400?

Yes, it is easy if you have a complete engine to swap. The only differences are the flywheel, starter, exhaust manifolds (really close to the same, can be made to work) and placement of the carb if we are talking about a second generation f body with a shaker scoop. The 301 is a short deck version of the traditional Pontiac V8, and as long as you are swapping the entire engine there are few issues to deal with.

What is the horsepower of the 1980 Buick regal 4.9 L v8?

It's actually a Pontiac 301 engine. One with a 2-barrel carb had 135 hp, 4-barrel carb had 150 hp. There was also a 301 4-barrel 'HO' or 'EC' with 170 hp, and the 301 Turbo with 210 hp. I imagine the Regal came with the 2 barrel carb unless it's a GS in which case it probably has the 4.
