Ever since airbags were invented.
You know those two bumps sticking out of your front bumper. Right in there! On the 2000 Wranglers its actually not on the front bumper but on the front part of the transmission tunnel under the heater/AC floor duct. I've put on aftermarket bumpers on my 2000 and that never affected the airbags.
The stock wheels from the 2007 and newer Jeep Wranglers will NOT fit on the 2006 and older Wranglers. The bolt pattern is different. The 2007 and newer have a 5 on 5 bolt pattern and the 2006 and older have a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.
Anything is possible with enough money. But no, the cost would be prohibitive.
2001
yes this is an option offered when you build or create your own wrangler. it will slightly block your drivers side view since it mounts on the roll bar.

No, this is not safe. In some states, it is even illegal. If it is a newer vehicle with airbags, it is even worse. Airbags injure more children than they help.
No they're to old and the car doesn't come with spaces for airbags.
I believe the F250/350 first had airbags in 1997. The F150 got them in 1994.
They don't put a V8 in that year wrangler.

Most likely culprit is the clutch is not disengaging. Check the clutch master cylinder fluid level for starters. You did not state what year, but older Jeep Wranglers (87-93 or 94) have the clutch slave cylinder inside the bell housing & it is not a fun thing to change cause the transmission/Xfer case have to be dropped to get at it. Might as well put in a new clutch while you are in there also. :+) Hope this helps~
