When The low fuel light comes on on a 2001 Grand Am about how much gas do you have left?

I was told by the dealer that it was about 18-20 miles. Not sure how accurate that is. My fuel light came on yesterday, mine is a 2003 Grand Am. So I am checking to see how far I get.
