I've been informed it has a timing chain, not belt, and therefore does not need to be replaced.
In a 2009 Pontiac Vibe : The 1.8 liter and the 2.4 liter four cylinder engines have a timing CHAIN Helpfull
It must be a timing CHAIN , the Gates website doesn't list a timing belt for it
The 2009 Pontiac Vibe is equipped with a timing chain, not a timing belt. Timing chains are generally more durable and do not require regular replacement like timing belts do. This design helps reduce maintenance costs over the vehicle's lifespan.
The 1.8 liter four cylinder in a 2003 Pontiac Vibe has a timing CHAIN
The Pontiac Vibes (all models to date) do not use a timing belt, but are equipped with a long lasting timing chain.
The timing chain is designed to last the lifetime of the engine unlike the timing belt.
To replace a cigarette lighter in a 2008 Pontiac Vibe simply refer to the user manual.
This is a link to the serpentine belt routing diagram that worked for my '04 Pontiac Vibe. As far as I know, this is the routing for all Pontiac vibe base and GT models. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerofile/1436belt.jpg
To replace the serpentine belt on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, first, locate the serpentine belt routing diagram, usually found on a sticker in the engine compartment. Use a ratchet or a wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt, allowing you to slip it off. Remove the old belt and install the new one, following the routing diagram. Finally, release the tensioner to secure the new belt in place.

By timing strap, I'm assuming that you mean the timing belt. The Pontaic Vibe uses the 1.8 liter engine also used in the Toyota Matrix and Toyota Corolla. This engine has an internal timing chain and does not require replacement. Keep the oil changed and drive that baby worry free regarding the timing chain.
