6-9 lb torque begining from the center outward at 1 half turn a piece. Hand tighten all first and then turn outwards on each side equally. the mid center should reach full torque first and then the outer ends last.

What is the torque specification for the head bolts when replacing a head gasket on a 460 ford engine?

Your question is best answered with" purchase a manual"! Reason being, looking for help with torque numbers also requires sequence. Without the proper sequence, you will destroy, at the very least, the head gasket. an inexpensive manual can be found at all patrts stores.

When replacing a valve cover do you also need to remove the head gasket and replace it too?

No you do not.... the valve cover only bolts to the head, and the head bolts to the block... True- these are two different jobs. When changing your valve cover gasket you may just want to ensure that your head bolts and lifters are still torqued down properly. Otherwise, DO NOT remove the head gasket if you simply want to change the valve cover gasket. when replacing the head gasket you should replace the valve cover gasket and may need to (depending on make & model) replace the egr gasket, intake mainifold gasket, and exhaust manifold gasket ...but not the other way around. If your replacing the head gasket ask your local auto shop if they carry a head gasket kit that includes everything necessary in one box...but if your just changing the valve cover gasket then just change that.

Does the rocker cover gasket need replacing as part of a service on a BMW z4 m?

The rocker cover gasket does not typically need replacing as part of a routine service on a BMW Z4 M unless there are signs of oil leaks or deterioration. It's generally recommended to inspect the gasket during service intervals and replace it if any wear or leaks are observed. If you're experiencing oil leaks or the engine shows signs of oil seepage, then replacing the gasket would be necessary. Always refer to the service manual for specific recommendations based on the vehicle's condition and mileage.
