most manufactures recommend replacement of timing belts at 120,000kms..also check your owners manual under the section maintenance schedules was just looking in the manual... it says: either "schedule a" = 105,000 miles (168,000 km) or at 84 months or "schedule b" = 99,000 miles (158,000 km) ======================================== "schedule a" is what they say is for normal operating conditions, "schedule b" is what most of us fall under. look in your manual for more info.

If the timing belt was changed on 1998 dodge stratus at 155000 it now has 245000 on it when should it be changed again?

The 1998 Dadge Stratus came with 3 different engines. You fail to list which engine you have. The 2.0 L should be changed every 100,000 miles and is an interferance engine. If the belt breaks on this engine, serious engine damage will occur. The 2.4 L should be changed every 105,000 miles. The 2.5 L V6 should be changed every 60,000 miles. On all of these engines the water pump is driven by the cam belt. Replace the water pump at the same time you replace the cam belt unless you have done so within the last 50,000 miles. You have 90,000 since the last service. So if you have a V6 you are long overdue and on the 4 cylinders, change the belt in 10,000 miles.
