I have a 1999 intrepid. Once you unscrew all the plastic wingnuts from the taillight assembly, the taillight slides out but is a tight fit. I pulled on it from the trunk lid side and found it came out easier. When you change your light bulb, it also helps to replace all of them in the taillight assembly all at 1 time. I did just 1 bulb then a second bulb went out, but since replacing all of them at 1 time, I have not had any go out since. I hope this helped you.
Pop the trunk, remove the "3 wingnuts" behind or on the carpet. That will in turn loosen the tail lights. Turn the bulb, and voila!
raise the trunk. pull back the carpeting. remove the 5 plastic wingnuts holding the light assembly in. separate the light assembly from the car. twist and remove the bulb. installation is reverse.
remove rear trim assembly by turning the little plastic wingnuts; turn the harness plugs counterclockwise and they will come out 3157 is correct bulb I believe.
Pop the trunk, pull back the trunk liner, remove the 5 plastic screws/wingnuts, and separate light assembly from the car, remove the bulbs and replace.
One that goes together with a bolt.

replace headlight Pontiac MontanaAssuming it is the same as my 1999, there are two "wing nuts" securing the entire plastic headlight assembly. One is mounted at the top-inboard(towards engine), And the other is outboard of the assembly. Once these two wingnuts are removed, carefully remove the whole assembly. The headlight bulb is contained in the socket... one quarter turn counter-clockwise will remove the socket from the housing.
Lawrence Dumont Stadium, at 9:35 p.m. following the Wichita Wingnuts game.
It is at the rear of the engine close to the cabin filter enclosure (identified by 3 wingnuts) It is quite dificult to access
Heaven forbid! I don't want to hear both of those extremist wingnuts go at it with each other!
open the trunk, pull back the liner and unscrew the plastic wingnuts, pull out the taillight and un plug the connector
In the third-gen Camaros and Firebirds, you must first remove the inside-rear of the trunk. That will give you access to several large plastic 'wingnuts' (usually black). Remove the wingnuts on the side that has the blown bulb. This will leave a stud that sticks in to the trunk where each of the wingnuts were. Push gently out on the studs, the tail light lens will loosen and can be pulled off the car. You can change the bulb by pushing in and turning. I always buy the higher cost, long life bulbs. This is too much of a pain to do over and over. It's also a good chance to clean the tail light lens and the area around it.
