The fuel filter is on the frame just forward of the gas tank.
FUEL FILTER ON 1988 BUICK LASABRE IS LOCATED DRIVERS SIDE IN FRONT ON REAR WHEEL ALONG FRAME.
It has 2 nuts in the bottom of the frame and three bolts on the transmission case
Not without a lift kit. It will damage the tire and frame everytime you hit a bump.
It is at the right rear tire on the rail or frame. WE know this because ours started leaking today and we had to find it. Hope this helps.

yes just had this problem the lines were rubbing on the frame causing a wear and a hole. now leaking fuel and smells horrible
2001 LeSabre - replaced original rear leveling shocks with Delco direct replacements and replaced hoses & motor/pump with GM/Buick replacements. Problem is shocks don't seem to exhale air for smooth ride. Like riding on frame. Power good, fuses good, turns on when rear of car pushed down. Suggestions?
The fuel filter canister should be mounted on the drivers side rear frame rail by the rear wheel >answer also look on the passenger rear side
some times Gm will put the fuel filter in lineunder the car on the frame rail. just look under the car and follow the fuel line. best of luck
