Hey Grady==You don't say what kind of car you have but most don't have relays on the compressor. Ihere is a cycling switch on the accumulator that when it is low will keep the compressor from engaging. GoodlukcJoe
Depends on the make and model of the vehicle. On newer cars check the power distribution box where the relays are located.
Check under the air filter housing for the PCM (power control module) if you could open it you would see about 5 relays on a circuit board one of the relays is for ac compressor. In general change the PCM.
Mabe your compressor is not kicking on for some reason. Check to see if the front of your compressor starts spinning when you turn it on. If it don't check to see if there is power to the wires that go to your compressor. If there is power you have a bad compressor. If there is not check the fuses or relays.
The air conditioning compressor on a Kia Rio is typically located near the front of the engine bay, mounted on the engine itself. It is usually situated on the passenger side, connected to the serpentine belt for power. To access it, you may need to remove some engine covers or components, depending on the specific model year. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for precise information.
Common troubleshooting steps for diagnosing issues with an air conditioning compressor include checking for power supply, inspecting the compressor for physical damage or leaks, testing the capacitor and relay, checking the refrigerant levels, and ensuring proper airflow.
In a 1995 Ford E350 van, the fuse for the compressor, which is part of the air conditioning system, is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. You should look for a fuse labeled for the air conditioning or compressor. Additionally, there may be a second fuse in the power distribution box under the hood. Always consult the owner's manual for specific fuse locations and ratings.
On a 1994 Lincoln, the air conditioning compressor relay is typically located in the engine compartment, within the power distribution box. To find it, look for a rectangular relay that may be labeled as "A/C" or "Compressor." If you're unsure, refer to the vehicle's owner’s manual for a specific diagram or location details. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off and take precautions when working around electrical components.
The belt is typically located under the hood of a car, in the engine compartment. It is used to transfer power from the engine to various components such as the alternator, water pump, and air conditioning compressor. The specific location can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle.
In a nutshell, it's a power source for propelling the vehicle, and powering the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and power steering pump.
Look under the hood in the power distribution box and you will see a group of relays and it will be the top one on row one (compressor clutch relay).........
The 1991 crown Victoria has several relays group in a relay center loacated under the hood near the master brake cylinder. In this relay center its the air conditioning WOT cutout relay, fuel pump, PCM power relay, and PCM power diode. P.S. defective relays must be replace as a unit.
The fuel pump relay is located in the back of the glove compartment. The relays under the hood should be for the AC compressor and the HVAC blower motor high speed. Be sure to check the fuses also.
