On my 97 convertible there are rubber plugs in the front rear fenderwells down at the bottom. I found this out the hard way because the rear floor was wet when the water could not escape. How stupid is it that plugs are in there in the first place.

If it is a convertible the drain holes are full of crap, they are located under the rocker panels. They are usually bent shut when using a jack or lift in the wrong location.

Drain holes on 2004 sebring sadan?

The drain holes on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring sedan are typically located in areas such as the sunroof, door panels, and the windshield cowl to allow water to escape and prevent flooding inside the vehicle. It's important to keep these holes clear of debris to ensure proper drainage and avoid water-related issues, such as mold or electrical problems. Regular maintenance can help keep the drain holes functioning effectively. If you notice water pooling inside the car, it may indicate a blockage that needs to be addressed.

Is there a plug underneath the 1999 Chrysler Sebring convertible that could cause water to accumulate inside the car on the driver's side?

I have experienced this problem. On the underside of the car, on both sides, running from wheelwell to wheelwell is a weld. There are several holes in the weld that become plugged and do not allow water to escape. You can feel where the weld seperates with your hand. I use a short piece of a coat hanger to open the holes. Make sure that the drain plugs in the rear fenderwells are out. With the convertible water that runs down the top has no where to go. It will accumulate in the fenderwells and then seep into the vehicle if the two rubber plugs are not removed to allow the water to drain out.

Where are the drain holes on a 97 Chrysler Sebring convertible?

There are ten drain holes, five on each side of the car. They are in the ridge, on the bottom of the car, between the front and rear tires. It is the ridge that you would jack the car up on. They are very skinny, so to clean them, you could use a knife (butter knife) and then blow them out. They are in the inside of the ridge, so they are only visible looking outward. They are at an angle. The rear ones on each side could be pinched shut from jacking up the car.

What would cause water to accumulate on front passenger floor of a 99 Chrysler sebring convertible?

If the underside of your car was 'rust-proofed' then the weep holes for the water to escape are probably blocked. Thus, you probably have water inside the cavity under the passenger's seat. (Note: this is also where Chrysler, in their infinite wisdom, installs the audio amplifier on the JXi convertible!) Over time, and enough rain water to fill that cavity, it has nowhere else to go but INSIDE the car... (which also will eventually flood and short out your stereo amplifier). To remedy this, I used a chisel to separate the sheet-metal seam (underneath), and also punched a few small holes, in the bottom of that floor cavity. The water ran out for about a half hour. I then proceeded to replace the damaged amplifier with the one purchased on eBay for $75. (GREAT design, Chrysler!)
