On my 99 Grand Prix 3.8 it's located below the rear exaust manifold on the engine block.
where is a knock sensor located on a 96 Pontiac Bonneville
location knock sensor 2002 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8 engine
The knock sensor for a Pontiac G6 is located on the side of the engine. It is mounted at the exhaust manifold.
The knock sensor, in your 1997 Chevrolet Lumina, can be found on the front of the engine. The knock sensor is near the top of the engine.
Usually means you need to change it.Same as o2 sensers.Low means change
On the back side of the engine underneath to the left of the knock sensor which is to the left of the camshaft position sensor
I found in a google search 15ftlbs torque for the knock sensor.
look toward the back of your engine (jack the front end up and crawl under you can't see them from above) look on you passenger side it will should be white with a green wire running to it
on the lower part of the engine near the cats
LS does not have a knock sensor. GSR does have a knock sensor
I have a 1990 Pontiac Safari wagon that would not start, after much testing we found one bad fuel injector replaced it and car started but ran terrible, did more testing and found bad ignition module, replaced module runs better but now have code #43 knock sensor and engine is running in default mode switched ECM no help must be knock sensor don't think knock sensor would keep car from starting but the other things mentioned here would. Hope this helps. This wagon has 3.1 engine. Havent changed knock sensor yet.
The knock sensor detects spark knock or ping.
