Warm the engine up to operating temperature. Shut off engine and raise the front of the truck off the ground. block truck up, so it can not fall. Place a drain pan under the drain plug, located at the rear of the oil pan. Remove the drain plug slowly, once out let oil drain for a while. When it has finished draining, replace plug. Move drain pan under oil filter, and remove the filter. Before installing the new filter drip some new motor oil on the rubber gasket of the filter, rub it around to cover the face of the seal with oil, then install. Lower truck to the ground, fill with oil (6 quarts), and start the engine the gauge should start reading as the oil moves through the engine, shut off and check the oil level to make sure it is correct. If the change oil indicator came on in the truck it will need to be reset by turning the key to the on position, and pressing the fuel pedal to the floor three times.
