To add power steering fluid to your 1990 Plymouth Acclaim, locate the power steering reservoir, which is typically found near the front of the engine compartment, on the driver's side. The reservoir cap usually has a steering wheel icon or is labeled "Power Steering." Remove the cap, check the fluid level with the dipstick attached to the cap, and add the appropriate power steering fluid as needed. Be sure to replace the cap securely after adding fluid.
Use a turkey baster to remove excess fluid
To replace the rack and pinion on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the front wheels for better access. Drain the power steering fluid, then disconnect the steering column from the rack, remove the tie rod ends, and unbolt the rack from its mounting points. Install the new rack by reversing the removal process, ensuring all connections are secure, and refill the power steering fluid before testing the steering operation. Always consult a repair manual for specific instructions and torque specifications.
you can use any type of power steering fluid, personally i use transmittion fluid as it is cheaper then power steering fluid only down side is it takes longer to warm up in the cold weather
