This is something you want to be sure about. I would check with the manufacterer. If you fasten the steel improperly, it could void the warrenty on it. Some contractors argue over which way is better: screw or nail on top of the rib, or screw or nail along side the rib. either way is sufficient. I prefer to screw on the top of the rib because it wont be in the trough that the water runs down, thus less water exposure to the rubber gasket on the screw. hope this helps.
