This is something you want to be sure about. I would check with the manufacterer. If you fasten the steel improperly, it could void the warrenty on it. Some contractors argue over which way is better: screw or nail on top of the rib, or screw or nail along side the rib. either way is sufficient. I prefer to screw on the top of the rib because it wont be in the trough that the water runs down, thus less water exposure to the rubber gasket on the screw. hope this helps.

To effectively screw down a metal roof, start by ensuring the roof panels are properly aligned and securely fastened to the roof structure. Use the appropriate screws and a power drill to drive the screws into the designated spots on the roof panels, making sure they are tightened securely but not over-tightened to avoid damaging the panels. Work systematically from one end of the roof to the other, following the manufacturer's guidelines for spacing and placement of screws. Regularly check the tightness of the screws and make any necessary adjustments to ensure a secure and weatherproof installation.

To remove the roof rails and trim from a Volvo V70, start by using a trim removal tool to carefully pry off any plastic covers or caps that conceal the mounting screws. Next, unscrew the bolts holding the roof rails in place, typically found at the base of the rails. Once the screws are removed, gently lift the roof rails off the vehicle. Finally, for the trim, locate any screws or clips securing it and remove them before pulling the trim away from the roof.
