in the 3.0l models it is located right on top of the transmission. It makes a difference in sensors if you have the analog or digital cluster on the dash.
The vehicle speed sensor is on the transmission. The ABS speed sensor is on the differential.
i think that it might work

On the manual transaxle, the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is on the top rear of the transaxle, pretty much directly below the MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor.

To locate and replace the speed sensor in a 1989 Ford Probe LX with a digital dash, first, ensure the vehicle is safely lifted and secured. The speed sensor is typically located on the transmission, near the output shaft. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the retaining bolt to take out the old sensor. Install the new sensor, reattach the connector, and ensure everything is secured before lowering the vehicle.
Speed sensor on a 2001 ford expedition
no but if you can find an 88 to 92 tranny it will work fine
To remove a broken speed sensor from a 1993 Ford Probe GT, first, disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Then, locate the speed sensor, typically found on the transmission housing. Remove any electrical connectors and bolts securing the sensor, and gently twist and pull to extract it. If it’s stuck, use penetrating oil and allow it to sit for a few minutes before trying again.
