1991 Seville VATs module is located in the trunk midway between the rear deck speakers. Access by pulling down the upholstered rear deck cover in the trunk. Module is a black box about 1 inch by 3 inches by 5 inches and has many wires attached by connectors.

VATS is programmed into the ECU. There is no individual module. It can be bypassed relatively easily or your computer can be sent off and the VATS system can be deleted out of the programming.
The VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) module on a 1990 Corvette is located under the dashboard, specifically on the driver's side. It is typically mounted on or near the steering column. To access it, you may need to remove the lower dash trim panel.

To bypass the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) on a 1990 Camaro, you can locate the VATS module under the dash and cut the two wires leading to it. Then, you can connect a resistor that corresponds to the specific key's resistance value (usually found in the owner's manual or online). Alternatively, you could replace the VATS module with a bypass module available from aftermarket suppliers. However, it's important to note that bypassing VATS may void warranties or violate local laws.
Disabling the VATS system is not the right answer. Bypassing the VATS system on a '89 Pontiac Trams Am requires grounding the crank/start wire on the VATS box (located behind the dash, behind the console) and purchasing a bypass module, which is used in order to allow the fuel injectors to operate. Baker Electronix offers a DFVATS module for this purpose.

VATS is usually a GM (General Motors), system for helping prevent vehicle thefts. There are several different procedures depending upon the year and make of the vehicle. Search the internet for "VATS Bypass". I bypassed the vats on a 1996 Buick by accessing the wiring diagram for the VATS. I measured the resistance of the key chip. There are 15 different values it can be. It is simply a resistor. In this case, the chip measured 3000 ohms. I went to Radio shack and got a combination of resistors that would give me 3000 ohms. There are 2 wires that come out of the VAT module and go up the steering column to the key switch. I located the VAT module behind the glove box. I cut those two wires and soldered the resistors in so that the module always saw 3000 ohms. You have to solder the resistor on the module side, not the key side.
In a 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28, the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) module is typically located under the dashboard, near the steering column. It is integrated with the ignition system and can often be found close to the ignition switch. The VATS system uses a resistor in the ignition key to enable the starting of the vehicle, so any issues may require access to this area for troubleshooting or repairs.
jegs or summit racing used to sell vats bypass harness / w module vats is the biggest mistake since olds cadi diesels cant remember how many punches my vette got waiting to start good luck
