If you have an 03 wagon then the problem is probably the wire to the hatch....99.999% of those dang 03's,including mine,have junky wire insulation..it breaks over time and use,causes a short,and next thing you know it your rear lights are out too..it's easy to check,open the hatch and roll back the rubber grommet where the wires are at the top of the door and check it out...
