First, try to run out all the fuel, the tank, it is heavy. The tank has a steel cover on over the tank, so remove it first with a 5/8" socket. disconnect all the fuel tubing and electrical connections. loosen up the straps that secure the tank to the body, but don't remove them yet. loosen up the filler neck hoses, and there might be a box that covers the hiose's so you might have to remove it also. after the filler neck hose's are removed, and the hose and electrical connections are removed, now you can loosen up the strap bolts and drop the tank. after the tank is out, there is a locking ring that hold in the fuel pump assembly, tap it loose with a hammer and screwdriver or chisel to loosen the locking ring. then remove the assembly. with the assembly out, simply replace the pump and screen filter, and reassemble everything again. should only take a couple hours. be carefull not to damage the rubber "O" ring that is the seal, it is better to just replace it if you can, but make sure it is in the right place or it might leak.
