I was looking at one of the Ford websites and the drawing shows
two engine block heaters ( each one is rated at 1000 watts )
They are located on the passenger side of the engine block , in the
front and middle expansion plug ( frost plug ) holes on the 7.3 liter
diesel in a 1990 Ford F-250
* the drawing also shows that the heating elements are positioned
facing UP
The old Honda Civics didn't come with the block heater. It's an option or aftermarket...If your car is equipped with a block heater, it should be located in front or at the side of the radiator......
A block heater is not a standard feature, and few manufacturers offer them as an option. Usually, they are installed by the owner, or for the owner at a shop.
It does not have one.

It is used in extremely cold climates to aid in starting. The block heater keeps the fluids warm for a much faster start.
I had to replace my block heater on my 89 Accord and the plug/location for the heater is in behind the distributor. I had to remove the distributor from the engine block and then removed the old block heater. It is an easy do it yourself job but you have to be carefull to reinstall the distributor exactly the same way it came out. .
front passanger side of block it is mechanical.
Block heaters are not installed by the manufacturer. So, unless a prior owner installed one, you do not have a block heater. If you do, it will have a standard 120 volt AC plug hanging somewhere.
There isn't one on these vehicles and they are not available from the factory. I've heard of them being available for the diesel engines but they are expensive and hard to find since they where never imported into the US. Ebay maybe? Good luck.
any ford dealer or good aftermarket store like auto zone will have block heater be aware the block heater as it is called, actually installs in the oil cooler on lower side of engine the heater will cost about 50 bucks and the wire harness is about 80 bucks u could also go to a wrecker and get used one
Probably a bad thermostat - stuck open so the water temperature in the engine block doesn't get hot enough to make the heater warm.
