It's attached to the throttle body.
did you check the kick down cable connected to your transmition to your carb or fuel injection unit? the main purpose of the kick down cable is it tells the transmition to shift when you accelerate the car.i had the same problem to my Ford Taurus. don't try to do it yourself! take it to the shop! See if that's the problem. Aloha
The throttle cable can't be adjusted but the kickdown can be adjusted. Shorten the cable length to get it to kick down a gear sooner. It will kick down under less power.Lengthen the cable length to get it to kick down later. It will kick down with more power.
ford makes a tool for setting the throttle pressure cable(kick down cable). You can buy one of these from your local ford dealer for about mmmmmmmm15 to 19 dollars.easy to use
Shorten the kickdown cable to make the transmission kick down into a lower gear sooner. Lengthen the cable to make the transmission shift down later or at a lower power setting.
well its Between the Gear and the Throttle there you can find the Kick-Down Cable
kick down cable
Loosen the clamp bolts on the cable. If it is shifting down to a lower gear when the throttle is at max it is all right. If it is shifting down too early, lengthen the cable adjustment. If it is shifting down too late or not at all shorten the cable adjustment.
The transmission shifting is late because the kick-down cable needs to be adjusted. The kick-down cable is usually found on the throttle lever with the throttle cable.
If you mean a Kick down cable you will ruin your transmission as the Kick down cable was only used by most manufacturers in the 1950s and 60s. Later cars had a system where the cable everyone called the Kick down was actually a throttle position cable and controlled the transmission internals to prevent slipping and controls how harsh the shifts are.
Probably the kick-down cable needs adjustment. Ensure that the kick-down cable is properly adjusted. Depends on what type of vehicle. Some FWD GM's will not downshift into 1st if the fuse is blown controlling the computer. It really depends on the model and year of car. Dan
The side kick panel is to the right of the floor where the passengers feet would be.
It does not have one.
