firewall, right side, has 1 elec. plug and one vac hose attached.
ok, I have the haynes geo repair manual it says code 23 , manifold air temperature (mat) /intake air temperature (iat) sensor circuit code 31 & 32, manifold absolute pressure (map) sensor circuit the above sensors eather need to be replaced or checked for problems with the sensor.
in front of the air filter.
IAT sensor (intake air temperature) or more commonly known as the MAT (manifold air temperature) sensor is located on either the air intake snorkel or the manifold
Do you mean MAP sensor? The Map sensor is located in the intake manifold under the plastic northstar cover. Its a little sensor that is located just to the left of the throttle body. removing this sensor requires no tools for expertise. Just unplug pull it out and replace with a new sensor.
MAT (MAP) SensorHi,m The closest I can think you mean is a MAP sensor. If this is what you mean then it is mounted on the firewall right near the battery. It is a small thing with an electrical connector and a vacumn hose or two. If this isn't the sensor you want then please reask and I'm sure someone will have an answer. Steve H.
That year did not have a Manifold Air Tempture sensor / MAT sensor, no need for it on the Throttle body injection system.
The iat sensor is also known as the mat sensor which is the manifold air tempeture. it is located on the front of the intake manifold. its a 2wire gray plug
My sources do not list a MAT sensor for that vehicle however, they do list a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor and it is mounted to the air cleaner.

it sits on the intake manifold on the right side looking at the car from the rear..its a black plastic looking box, attached directly to the intake.
MAT = Manifold Absolute Temperature, Measures the temperature of the incoming air charge in the intake manifold. On the V6 Fiero this is mounted on the air cleaner canister.
Code 25 indicates a MAT sensor. In my case, I have changed the MAT sensor and several other sensors and I still have the intermittent 25 code. I am currently trying to track down a vacuum leak. (Which I should have done immediately after realizing that the sensor wasn't the problem.
