Near the firewall on passenger side...two rubber hoses come together to a tee fitting
the other end of the tee fitting goes down to the crankcase hose.
Tough to see it....it is sightly under the intake plenum...both hose that go to the tee fitting ..one goes to the right side of the intake plenum [under it] the other hose goes to the left side [under]. The original pcv is plastic....the new one is metal.
The tee DOES come off to go to the new valve but is hard to get apart..the warm
water trick will help to take apart without breaking it.

how do I get into my 99 explorer with it being locked and the latch being broke
On a 1999 Ford Explorer : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment near the brake fluid reservoir ( the # 6 relay is the starter relay )
If the 1999 Explorer is equipped with a block heater, it will be located in one of the frost plugs in the engine. It is usually placed on the side of the motor that has the most amount of room to insert the plug.
I would say that my 1998 S-10 does not have a PCV valve, at all, anywhere.
