It is located on the upper right rear of gas tank. You have to remove tank to access it.
On a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu, the purge solenoid is typically located near the engine, often mounted on or near the intake manifold. It is connected to the evaporative emissions system and is usually situated close to the fuel tank and charcoal canister. To access it, you may need to remove some components for better visibility, but it’s generally found on the driver's side of the engine bay. Always refer to a repair manual for specific details and diagrams.
Trouble code P0445 means: Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
it is located in front of the fuel tank. it is attached or very close to the canister (the size of a small shoe box) that contains the charcoal. must jack rear end up to get to it.
The purge valve on the Malibu is located on top of the charcoal canister that is mounted on the side of, or in close relation to the fuel tank. Usually on the same side as the filler neck. This purge valve is not to be confused with the purge valve solenoid which is located on the intake manifold. If for some reason you can not find the purge valve/canister just locate the solenoid on the intake manifold (which will have an electrical plug and one vaccum line attached to it.) and trace the vaccum line under the car to the canister. As stated above...it is there that you will find the canister purge valve.
