It looks like a plug sticking out of one of your exhaust manifolds. Make sure the engine is cold, then go searching for it. I found mine underneath the car on the exhaust system. It was between the manifold and the cat. convert. Took less than 1 min to replace and part cost was $45.00

Where are the temperature sensors on a 2002 GMC Sonoma 4.3-liter engine?

On a 2002 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3-liter engine, the primary temperature sensor is located on the engine block, near the thermostat housing. This is typically the coolant temperature sensor that provides data to the engine control module. Additionally, there may be a cylinder head temperature sensor, which could be found on the cylinder head itself. Always refer to a repair manual for precise locations and specifications.
