When you open the hood, it should be the large rectangular piece on the left side. It is very big compared to the other surrounding engine parts and sits right on top. Just reach onto each side of it and release the clips to lift the top off. You should see a filter that is placed with the vent vanes facing downwards. Just pull it right out and replace it with a new one when the need arises
