under the driver's side of the instrument panel, above the emergency brake. Remove the black plastic trim, the colored plastic trim, the metal cover underneath. find the three cables leading to it one is pink two are grey connectors.

The body control module can have everything to do with it. If the engine computer and the body control module do not have communication between one another than the engine will start then die after 2 sec.

The BCM (Body Control Module) of the Passlock system is malfunctioning. It will need to be replaced. I just had it done to my '03 Impala.
Center counsol
The theft deterrent system is built into the Body Control Module. There are sensors and switches that affect the BCM throughout your car so you need to be more specific as to what you're looking for.
There is no such thing as a bypass module. The best I can figure is the Body Control Module. If this is the case then you will have to find a shop with a scanner to do it. If you have NOT made the necessary repairs then the light WILL come back on.
