In your engine compartment , on the drivers side , by the firewall ( the metal wall

If it looks like a smaller version of the brake cylinder container it is the hydraulic clutch reservoir ( assuming you have a manual ) and you will fill it with brake fluid.

DOT 3 brake fluid
Either your parking brake / emergency brake is on or the BRAKE FLUID LEVEL is LOW , in the brake master cylinder located in your engine compartment
It is not recommended to use DOT 3 brake fluid from an open container, as brake fluid can absorb moisture from the air, which can lead to reduced braking performance and potential damage to the braking system. Additionally, contaminants may enter the container, compromising the fluid's integrity. It's best to use brake fluid from a sealed container to ensure its quality and effectiveness.

The brake fluid reservoir in a 1991 Jeep Cherokee is located on the master cylinder. To add fluid, unscrew the cap and fill to the appropriate level with the appropriate brake fluid, more than likely dot 3.
Just normal DOT3 brake fluid.
The brake fluid reservoir on a Ford Mondeo is typically located in the engine bay, near the back of the engine compartment on the driver’s side. It is usually a translucent plastic container with a cap labeled for brake fluid. Always ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is on a level surface before checking the fluid level.
On a 2001 Mercury Sable : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is near the firewall , in the area of the brake fluid reservoir , in the engine compartment
