The camshaft sensor on a 2007 Chevy Aveo is located behind the timing gears. To replace the camshaft sensor you need to remove the top half of the timing belt cover. You will also need to remove the plastic cover that hides the spark plugs. Once these two items have been removed you should be able to see the camshaft sensor. The two bolts that hold the sensor on can be accessed by reaching between the two top timing gears. Be careful not to drop any bolts down into the bottom half of the timing belt or you will have to remove the bottom portion of the timing belt cover to retrieve the bolts. I suggest that you do not remove the pigtail from the sensor until you have successfully removed the two bolts and pulled the sensor clear of the timing belt area. Once you have completed this task just reverse the process. Plug the new sensor into the pigtail then set it back behind the timing gears and line up the bolt holes. With caution place the two bolts back into their perspective holes and tighten them to manufacturer's specifications. Replace the covers and you are done!
To replace the camshaft position sensor in a 2007 Jeep Compass, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the camshaft position sensor, which is typically found near the engine block. Remove the electrical connector and the mounting bolt securing the sensor, then pull it out. Install the new sensor by reversing the removal steps, ensuring a secure fit, and reconnect the battery.
